What Does RIP Software Do?
Standard printer drivers deliver basic print quality at best. RIP software does much more:
- Converts colour data from RGB/CMYK to the printer’s native colour space using ICC profiles.

- Handles variable dot sizes, pass counts, and bidirectional printing settings for maximum quality.

Bundled OEM RIPs
Most Epson, Mimaki, Mutoh, and LIYU printers supplied by CMYK include a manufacturer RIP or print driver tuned for that machine. Mimaki RasterLink, Epson Edge Print, and Mutoh VerteLith are common examples.
